Saturday Snapshot - Everything in its Place

I gave this jigsaw to my husband for Christmas. We have long winters in New Hampshire and just about the time that the snow and cold or the sleet and muck make for uncomfortable outdoor work, SB likes to pull out the card table and work on a puzzle ... it keeps him busy and out of my hair. It occurred to me as I looked at this picture that we are pretty set in our ways ... married for an unGodly amount of time and still good friends and partners in crime ... we fit together like these puzzle pieces.

Glad I hooked myself up with the right person. I'd hate to be that puzzle with one missing piece ... just sayin'.

Saturday Snapshot is an exercise in pure fun ... a blogshare with Alyce @ at home with books .
Check out everyone else's Saturday Snapshots ... and pick out one of your own, add a little story or caption, and link it up at Alyce's hub! A picture's worth a thousand words, you know ...

  3. The old man of the mountain is still on the puzzle?? We haven't been to NH to see how it looks without him. May you have many more years of being perfect puzzle pieces together.

  4. That looks like the kind of puzzle you could frame and hang on the wall. It has staying power just like your marriage ;)

  9. What fun! My mom loved jigsaw puzzles and used set one up on a card table. Anytime I would pass it I'd have to stop and find a piece. I miss that.

  14. What a great loving post; I also gave my husband a puzzle for Christmas. When my boys were growing up, we always had a puzzle going on a card table somewhere; a great spot to reflect.

  15. This reminds me of long, cold winters in central Illinois. Of one winter in particular when snow had drifted to the eaves of the house, a small thaw, then temperatures plunging below zero. The resulting ice brought trees and lines down. We were without electricity for three days, and my grandparents had to leave their all-electric house and move in with Mom and me. We worked jigsaw puzzles by the light of kerosene lamps. Thanks for bringing those memories to the fore today!

  19. WOW! Yours is the first Saturday Snapshot that brought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat. Two cliche and hackneyed phrases BUT apt in this case. What a lovely way to put it. I've been married for twenty years and (mostly) feel the same way:)
This is my first stop by your colorful blog (thank you Alyce) and I love the bright and cheery look.

  21. What a lovely way of seeing the world and your relationship - your husband is a lucky man! I did 3 puzzles over our Jan summer hols (Aust) with my stepsons. I hadn't done puzzles since my own teen years - I'd forgotten how wonderfully relaxing and mesmerising they can.

  22. That's a great, intricate looking puzzle. Wow, I would never have the patience to be able to put such a thing together.
Far lovelier than the puzzle, is the togetherness you speak of.

I am so glad you and your husband found each other. I love the sentiment--it is very fitting (no pun intended).
