Hazelnut Coffee Ring

The house smells divine right now - like toasted nuts and chocolate and baking pastry! While this coffee ring cools just a bit, I'll tell you about this super easy four ingredient coffee break treat!

This quick dessert is made with refrigerator case crescent roll dough, Nutella spread, chopped hazelnuts, and a beaten egg. That's it ... really.

Simply whack the roll of dough open, roll it out into a long rectangle on a lightly floured counter top.
Press any 'seams' closed. Spread a half cup of Nutella spread over the dough. Sprinkle on a scant half cup of chopped hazelnuts. Roll the dough up jellyroll-fashion. Use a pizza cutter to slice the long roll length-wise up the middle. Arrange the two rolls on a parchment paper-lined baking pan, coiling the dough snakes around each other and then bringing them into a circular shape. Pinch the dough ends together. Brush with a beaten egg wash. Bake for 20 minutes in a 375 degree F oven. Remove from the oven and slide onto a pretty plate. Voila! Tea or coffee time !

There IS a place in this world for these easy peasy recipes ... don't you think ?

  1. Are you sure you are not a pastry chef? The presentation on ALL of your desserts is incredible.
